Background:
Dr. Li received his PhD in molecular engineering from Tottori University (Japan) in 2000. He worked as Postdoctoral Fellow at National Institute of Agrobiological Science (Japan) from 2000 to 2001, and Research Fellow at Hokkaido University (Japan) from 2001 to 2006. He joined the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. His research was supported by “Hundred Talent Program” of CAS from 2008. He has over 10 publications in recent years in the related fields involved in Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Biomacromolecules, etc.

Research interests:

Dr. Li’s group is mainly interested in glycochemistry and chemical glycobiology. The research area covers carbohydrate chemistry, organic synthesis, and biochemistry. Current research topics are:

1. Construction of new strategy on oligosaccharide synthesis;

2. Discovery of novel anti-infective agents based on carbohydrate syntheses;

3.Construction of rapid detection methods on infectious pathogens through the combined use of glycotechnology and nanotechnology.
