Background:

Dr. Kun Zhu received his BSc and MSc in China Agricultural University. He obtained his PhD in Illinois State University in 2004. After that he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee (2005-2010).  In 2010 Dr Zhu joined the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.


Research interests:
Dr. Zhu has worked on fatty acid biosynthesis in bacteria for years. Current his work focuses on increasing fatty acid production through genetic engineering, and increasing metabolite secretion through membrane fatty acid adjustment.
